Circularity

Let’s make recyclable recycled

We have created an alternative supply chain for recycling 3D printed PLA.

3D printing, however virtuous, is not a waste-free process. PLA waste, in particular, has no place in traditional recycling chains even though it is a compostable material. The thickness of 3D printed objects does not allow the waste to biodegrade as a PLA cup would. However, if sorted into plastic, they are incinerated: a bio-based, recyclable material is therefore wasted.

Since our foundation in 2018, we have never thrown away our waste with the aim of giving it a new lease of life sooner or later. In March 2020, we finally devised a recycling system that could work not only for our own waste, but also for that of other labs and organisations that, like us, print and care about sustainability.

In March 2020, a network was set up to collect and recycle the waste in our lab to make it reprintable: we make the recyclable recycled..
